Progress on this next batch of banjos has been slower than I would have liked due to several ailments, but getting back on track now. Mark's 'Dobson' should be ready for oiling later next week , yay!
Alan's Maple 12" 'Dobson' is coming along nicely, this banjo will be stained all black before applying a finish, Tom's 12" Walnut banjo is also taking shape, it will have some aged brass hardware and a 'manky' brass peghead overlay!
Tony's 'classic' style banjo is still in the early stages as I need to make a couple of new jigs for the neck to replicate the dimensions of his old Clifford Essesx.
I also just had one of my 2014 banjos sent back to have a calf skin head and rolled brass tonering fitted. The modifications went well, just need to get it all back together again!
It's looking like this year is going to be busier than I expected, with a huge amount of banjo enquiries in the past 2 weeks and many resulting in orders being placed. This now pushes the wait/delivery time for new orders back to September.
