Just finishing this rather nice commissioned banjo. All Cherry with Walnut rim cap and stripe, 25.5" scale with Ebony fingerboard, peghead overlay, inlaid MOP star, brass rod tone ring, Nickel plated hardware and Gotoh tuners. This was a project banjo that I started sometime last year and is nearly ready for finishing, it will go up for sale once complete. 11 1/8" Walnut rim with Cherry integral tonering, Cherry neck with flat heel and walnut cap, slotted peghead with Rosewood overlay, Rosewood fingerboard, 24 2/4" scale, simple carving from back of 5th peg bump, Nickel plated hardware. A neck for Steve's original Dobson pot, Chris's Walnut Banjo with Dobson tone ring, Jeremiah's left-handed semi fretless and the Cherry/Walnut mentioned above! BBC Suffolk radio listeners were subjected to possibly their first clawhammer banjo experience this afternoon!
I was invited to be part of their 'made in Suffolk' program, I bumbled my way through the interview but at least my rendition of 'Fortune' sounded pretty damn hot! |
