Just finished the first of 2 mountain banjers I've been commissioned to build this month. This one is a modified and improved version of the 'Huckleberry'. Walnut neck and Cherry pot with a Remo drum skin.

Received my fretless mountain banjo this morning from Leon.I can't find any phrases in the English dictionary to describe it.There are none that truly do it justice .But I will use some lesser ones , because that's all I have.....Beautifully crafted, the grain on the walnut neck and on the cherry pot are ridiculously stunning, the contrast between walnut and cherry is I think delightful.Ok, so it looks good...and guess what...when you play it,it gives you the most charming, woody, mountain banjer tones.Leons instruments look and sound incredible on the internet, but when you're lucky enough to own one........and you're sat outside with a coffee, and the dog's sat at your feet and you're playing at whatever level musically you are at,you feel hypnotized and all is well with the world.
