A week later than I'd hoped, Dale's Walnut banjo finally ready for oiling! Still need to stretch and stain a calf skin but hopefully I'll be able to start assembling by the end of next week. The rim for Andrew's banjo is turned, drilled and awaiting a brass tonering and some final sanding. I'll be cutting out Mother of Pearl for the inlay designs on Andrew's banjo next week and also inlaying the stars and dots on Tony's 'Cello'. Daniel's 'lefty' Walnut banjo is at a similar stage to Andrew's but no inlay for this one. Gary's 'Mountain banjo' is still in the early stages, a squarish 'guitar' style peghead was requested, looks great with the 'bookmatched' Indian Rosewood overlay! Here's how my new toy is progressing. I have my first gig in 5 years at the end of June so need to get cracking to have this finished by then!
