27 1/4" scale Ebony fretboard Maple neck Planetary tuners Mother of Pearl inlays New calf skin head 22 frets 24 hooks An extremely nice, old Cammeyer banjo, very easy to play and a lovely, powerful tone. I currently have it strung up to the same intervals as an Irish tenor banjo, but a whole tone lower, so it can be capoed at the 2nd fret to put it in the correct key, it also sounds great with standard strings, tuned to plectrum tuning, as it was intended (CGBDor DGBD). This banjo features some very high quality hardware, check out the attention to detail on the hook turnings and the engraving on the spun pot. It weighs around 4.5 kg, making it a pretty hefty banjo. This banjo has obviously been well loved and well played over the years! |

New goat skin head Mahogany neck 25.5" scale Ebony neck 20 hooks Friction tuners New 'No Knot' tailpiece Tunneled 5th string Bone nut and pip 1/2" Ebony capped Cherry bridge GHS Americana light gauge strings The action height at the 12 fret is a hair over 1/8" , with a 1/2" bridge. The light gauge steel strings combined with the 25.5" scale length, make it comfortable to play up and down the neck. Being around 100 years old, this banjo does have its fair share of dents, dings and blemishes and I've tried to show as much as possible in the photos, but, it is in great shape for the age and one of the nicest I've come across. Has a lovely mellow tone. |
